Republic of Angola: Writer Dário de Melo against violence in society "that people need to be re-educated"

Luanda/Angop – Angolan writer Dário de Melo said on Friday in Luanda that people need to be re-educated because it is unacceptable for man to continue raping women and youths despise the elderly.

"We are in a situation in which people need to be re-educated. Yesterday I witnessed an event in which a young man who affirm that he is capable to assaulting a woman", he said during the launching ceremony of his book entitled "Contos para Contar (tales to tell)".

The winner of children's literature prize of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (PALOP), in 1998, said that young people of nowadays cannot be compared with those from back in time who used to listen to traditional tales, since they now tend to disrespect the
elderly or children.

In his opinion a father plays a great in the education of their children.

The book "Contos para Contar (tales to tell)" with 3,000 copies will also be presented in the provinces of Benguela, Huila and abroad
